Qredits overview
Qredits is the only nationally operating microfinance organization in the Netherlands. Qredits provides business loans up to €250,000, mentoring services and entrepreneurial training tools for starting and existing entrepreneurs in micro and small enterprises. The organization was founded in 2009 and has grown significantly over the past few years to become one of the main alternative financiers in the Netherlands. Qredits’ main office is located in Almelo and currently employs 120 people. The business advisors in the Netherlands hold offices in five different regions of the country.
Since 2015 Qredits has been active on all Caribbean Islands within the Kingdom of the Netherlands with offices on Bonaire, Aruba, Curacao and St. Maarten (also servicing Saba and St. Eustatius). The teams on the Caribbean consist of a Branch Manager and a number of (jr.) Business Advisors. The teams are supported by the back offices and staff departments of Qredits in the Netherlands.
The main activities consist of supporting aspiring entrepreneurs in writing a business plan and providing Microcredit business loans up to Afl. 100.000 to starting and existing entrepreneurs. Qredits also offers additional support through volunteer coaching and different training programs.
General purpose
Expanding and managing a client portfolio of micro entrepreneurs (that fall within the microfinance target group) through targeted marketing towards banks, bookkeeper & accountant offices and the Chamber of Commerce and following up on leads coming from these intermediaries. The business advisor has a commercial disposition and is actively on the look-out for opportunities and new contacts in this field. He/She is specialized in the customer target group of small and micro entrepreneurs and has a thorough knowledge of microfinancing and business loans. This is a prerequisite for providing tailored advice to each individual customer.
Apart from that the business advisor has experience judging the quality and feasibility of business plans and entrepreneurial skills of the applicant. He/She is knowledgeable about the different credit and insurance product options available in order to give the entrepreneur the best possible financial advice.
He/She holds a responsibility for realising the plan of action for reinforcement of entrepreneurship on Sint Maarten.
Targeted results
• Put together an annual market penetration plan – in consultation with supervisor - with corresponding targets (commercial and in relation to credit management).
• Execute the market penetration plan with the help of available tools and discussing progress with supervisor.
• Write screening reports with a sound analysis of the viability of the business plan and entrepreneurial qualities of the customer.
• Follow up on leads within the set timeframe.
• Responsible for credit management of customers in portfolio and follow up on signals received from within the organization about lagging / late interest and principal loan payments. If a mentor/coach has been assigned to the customer he/she will be included in the follow-up process.
• Maintain contact with related organizations in the field such as local banks, local bookkeeping and accountant offices, and Chambers of Commerce in order to generate leads and strengthen the position of the organization.
• Maintain good contact with the Qredits back-office in order to improve the quality of service and reduce processing time.
• Assist in expanding the pool of mentors consisting of motivated local entrepreneurs that are willing to mentor Qredits customers on a voluntary basis.
• Support the team with general office administration duties as needed.

• Reliable and complete loan applicant screening reports
• Noticeable portfolio increase in both quantity and quality
• Recruiting mentors/coaches and matching them up with customers
• Selling entrepreneurial tools (training programs)
• Function as microfinance ambassador
• Adequate risk management in cooperation with Risk Manager and possible Mentor
• Targeted marketing in assigned work field
• Improve and guard quality of service and processing times
Job requirement
• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Finance/Accounting/Marketing/Communication or any Business track course
• 4+ years working experience in (small) Business Lending & Advisory
• Ability to independently screen and assess loan applications
• Experience and creative thinking with regard to credit management & collections
• Fluent in Dutch & English, Papiamento and Spanish are seen as bonus
• Own transportation
